Employment Service Centers

Provide registration, counselling, skills assessment, reintegration planning, referrals, and follow-up support for returnee migrants.

Direct support for returnee migrants

Employment Service Centers (ESCs) are the front line of the ReMi project. This is where a returnee migrant walks in, registers, and starts building a concrete plan for what comes next — whether that is a job, self-employment, or further training.

Each ESC works closely with Local Government to reach eligible returnees and with the PSU’s broader plans to keep services consistent across districts. Rather than one-off assistance, ESCs are designed to stay with a returnee migrant through registration, assessment, planning, referral, and follow-up — so support does not stop once someone is enrolled.

The Service Journey

What happens at an ESC, step by step

Registration

A returnee migrant registers at the centre and shares their background, skills, and immediate needs.

Counselling

Staff talk through options and help the person think through what reintegration path suits them.

Skills assessment

Existing skills and experience — often gained abroad — are assessed against local opportunities.

Reintegration planning

Together with the returnee, staff draft a practical plan toward employment, self-employment, or training.

Referrals

The centre connects the returnee to relevant employers, training providers, or financial services.

Follow-up support

Staff check back in to see how the plan is working and adjust support where needed.
